UNIFLASH vs CCS6x

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RM57L843, UNIFLASH

Hi All,

I have a demo project running on RM57L843.

The CCS debug works just fine. In debug mode, CCS creates the executable file called test_debug.out loaded to my Lauchpad XL2 board running in Debug mode. After loading, the executable can start running even without CCS debug running after reset.

However if I load the same test_debug.out to my board using UNIFLASH, it does not run.

Any advice?

Many thanks.
Phil

  • Phil,

Which versions of CCS and Uniflash were you using for your tests?

  • HI AartiG,

    CCS 6.1.3

    Uniflash 3.4.1

    Board: RM57Lx Launchpad

I should have mentioned that every time I switch between CCS debug and Uniflash, it asked for the firmware on the board (XDS110) to be updated, i.e. the CCS debugger and CCS Uniflash work with different firmware on the launchpad. Is that a problem?

    Cheers,

    Phil

I would definitely recommend updating the Emulators package to the latest version on both CCS and Uniflash. That way you can be sure you are working with the same version on both environments, and also eliminate the constant firmware updates that happen when moving from one to the other.

You can update by going to Help->Check for Updates on both Uniflash and CCS. If you do not wish to take all available updates, select just the "TI Emulators" to update (latest version is 6.0.407.3).
