Segmentation Fault error occurs during the build in CCS

Hi all,

I am using Arm5.1.1, ccs5.5, windows 10 PC for uC TMS 570LS2125 to develop a project. But during the build i got the following error

[‏9/‏28/‏2016 2:42 PM]
INTERNAL ERROR: C:\ti\ccsv5\tools\compiler\arm_5.1.1\bin\armcg.exe experienced a segmentation fault
while processing function Startup

This is a serious problem. Please contact Customer
Support with this message and a copy of the input file
and help us to continue to make the tools more robust.

>> Compilation failure
gmake: *** [TMS570_Startup/src/sys_startup.obj] Error 1
gmake: Target `all' not remade because of errors.

**** Build Finished ****

I have tried as per the details given in the link e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/compiler/f/343/t/365113, still i can't solve this.

Could anyone help me to solve this? I have attached my project settings for your reference.

To understand what has gone wrong, we need to reproduce this ourselves. Please preprocess sys_startup.c and attach that file to your next post. Use copy-and-paste from the Console window to show all the build options.

In the meantime, you might be able to avoid the problem by either changing the --opt_level to a lower number, or by upgrading to a newer version of the compiler.

Hi George,

Thanks for your immediate response. As i am new to CCS i am still trying to find the place to change the --opt_level, could you please guide me in this?

Right click on the project name and choose Show Build Settings. Navigate to Build | ARM Compiler | Optimization. See the screen shot below.
