I believe the current version of CCS is 6.1.3

Is there going to be a new version (like 6.2 or 7.0) in the near future?

Need this information to include in an evaluation report.

The latest version is 6.2.0:

CCSv7.0 is planned for sometime near the end of the year.

CCSv7 will be based off Eclipse Neon (4.6), which will provide many improvements. There will also be additional enhancements to the new Resource Explorer, more simplified licensing, additional device support, in addition to many bug fixes and other miscellaneous enhancements.

Note that Windows XP will not be supported with this release.
