How to Hire a TI Embedded Developer

I'm looking for advice or resources on the best place to locate experienced TI embedded programmers in Ontario Canada.  It seems candidates are few and far between when searching using traditional means.

Also, are there any recommended practices for vetting potential candidates.  We are new to this field and do have some specific application in mind but want to ensure that we are hiring experienced talent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Matthew,

The team in the MSP forum may have some questions that you use to help test candidates knowledge.  I would think understanding the low power modes would be something of importance.  In general MSP430 is a pretty straight forward platform to use with a good selection of starter software to begin with.

One thing to test them on would be knowledge of the development tools.  I am not sure if you are going to be using CCS or IAR but if they are experienced with MSP430 then they really should be up to speed on the development tools.  You could literally have an environment setup and see if they can get going with example applications.  If they are familiar with the tool it should take them no time at all.

    Regards,
