Couldn't find C5515EVM usb driver on the windows 7.

Hi Champ,

I need your help. I am now evaluating C5515EVM and this J11 port have USB and connect PC.

But, I couldn't find USB driver. This name is "TMSC5505" (Web searching is also not working well.)

I also try to find this driver on the spectrum digital web page.

Also, I have CCS 6.1.3.00034. And windows 7.

If you have any driver , please let us know.

Regards,

Kaz

  • Kaz,

Looking at the Quick Start Guide for the EVM it does have an onboard debug probe.  I do not have this EVM myself to try but if you install the Spectrum Digital debug probe drivers when installing CCS that should provide the drivers needed.  If you did not install the drivers when you originally installed CCS you can run the installer again and point it to your existing installation and choose to add additional items.

Once installed I would select "Spectrum Digital DSK-EVM-eZdsp onboard USB Emulator" as the debug connection and EVM5515 as the target.

    Regards,

    John

  • Kaz,

Are you interested in performing JTAG debugging? If so, you are connecting the wrong port. J2 is the correct one and you should see an entry in the Control panel similar to what is shown in the post below:
    e2e.ti.com/.../1988981

If you are trying to use the C5515 USB port as a peripheral, then the port is correct and you will need a suitable code running on the DSP before being properly acknowledged by the PC as a mass storage device, HID device, etc.

The page you sent has an example of using the 5515 USB as an HID mouse. This example is inside the "Target Content" package linked there.

    Hope this helps,
    Rafael
  • Hi Rafael, John

Thanks for your reply. You are both correct. Actually, I would like to check degital mic PDM communication application note.

And this USB connection reason is that works onboard emulater.

I changed usb to "J2" and PC. This case, it still doesn't recognize PC driver. but, I success to connect JTAG emulation.

    1: Connect J2 and PC

2: Also Poweron on board using 5V power supply

3: Create targetconfigulation with  Spectrum Digital DSK-EVM-eZdsp onboard USB Emulator and gel file.

    Then, works correctly

    Appriciate your help.

    Regards,

    Kaz
