Searching a string in worspace CCS4

If I search a word in CCS4, I get just a few hits ore non, but i'am sure that the word is in my code.
My settings are:

Case sensitive, no
regular expression, no
File name patterns, *
consider derived resources, no
Scope, Workspace

What am I doing wrong?

I don't see anything wrong with the parameters you are using. Depending on the location of the string you are searching, you may be having the issue reported in the thread below:

Thanks for you reaction, but it is not de solution.
Doesn't any one else has this ploblem or has a solution?

Hi Royke,

Are you trying to search text that is not part of your workspace project? Eclipse only search files that belongs to opened projects within the workspace. Folder that sits in your workspace directory or closed project will not get searched. If you have files in your file system that you want eclipse to search for you, try creating a General Project and link the files to this project. Hope this will solve your problem.
