I am using CCS 4.1.2.0027 in Windows 7 and I am finding it extremely slow open files. Has anyone else seen this issue?
Yes. I created a project and added the necessary files and when I try to open them it might take 30 seconds to open. CCS4 shows Not Responding and eventually it will open.
Ok, could you provide more details about your project? Such as:
Are the files on a local or remote (network) drive? Are the files (or project) in source control? Are the files physically in the project folder or are they linked files? Is your project folder in your workspace?
Thanks

They are remote on a linux machine. They are svn source controlled. They are linked files. Not sure about the last question. I have the RR SDK for the DM6446 with the iUniversal Example fir built and working in Linux. So now I am trying to get CCS4 to open the appropriate source files. (My goal is to use CCS4 for editting and debugging custom iUniversal Codec Engine algorithms. I am the one that posted about not being able to set break points in source files. I am guessing this might have something to do with it.)
Being on a remote machine and in source control would have some impact on the speed of opening files. Though 30 seconds does seem a bit long. Are you opening the file via right-click on the source file in the project view and selecting 'Open' or double-clicking on the file? have you started a debug session when doing this?
Double-clicking in the Project View. I have tried with both debug on and off. As far as the time... I can open the files on the same machine in CodeWright and I don't notice much time lag at all. Do I need to try a new install? If so is there any extra clean up that needs to be done? I can't wait 30 seconds per file open. It also takes that long when switching between tabs.
You can try changing the indexer to be less aggressive. That can help with very large projects and source files. You can do this by right-clicking on the project and selecting 'properties' in the context menu. Then select 'C/C++ Indexer' in the left panel and use the drop-down menu to change the indexer used.
