CCS V6.1.0.00104 profile clock behave abnormal sometimes

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6748

As below picture, sometime execute one instruction, the clock number is huge, actually it is 6 cycles when in normal status. Restart CCS can recover it to normal.

  • Hello Tony,

What device are you working with?

    Thanks

  • Ki,

I found it when working on J5Eco DRA624 DSP core (C674x), my customer reported it on TMS320C6748, the upper picture provide by customer.

    We are using CCSV6.

  • Hi Tony,

Sorry for the delayed response. I've been going though my list of threads and see I have left several still hanging. I tried to reproduce this issue but I always get the expected 6 cycle count.

I tried this on the C674x core of my L138 board. I'm also using a later version of CCS - CCSv6.2.0.

Can the customer try updating their CCS version to something more current? CCSv7 is the current latest, but if they don't want to make the jump to CCSv7, then at least CCSv6.2.0 would be good. If updating their CCS version does not help, then a small reproducible test case would be good. Just a very simple project would be ideal.

    Thanks
    ki
