How to buy CCS v6 license

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6415

Hello,

Please advise how to find the pricing page of CCS v6 license.

I cannot find it on TI site.

Thank you.

  • Hello Alex,
For the coming CCSv7 release, we are making many changes to the CCS license. The change will definitely benefit customers and this change will impact all previous CCS versions also. I suggest waiting until v7 is released (should be end of this week). If you absolutely cannot wait, please contact me via private conversation and I can help you get set up.

    Thanks

  • Hi, Ki,

Thank you, we can wait for it.

    Two more questions:

    (1) our project is developing by CCSv6, is it easy to upgrade from CCSv6 to v7?

    (2) my evaluation CCSv6 license is going to be overdue by end of December, can you extend 2~3 months for me before I purchase CCSv7 license? (because our company will have a long purchase period)

    Thanks!!

    Alex

The biggest changes between v6 and v7 revolve around licensing and the Resource Explorer. I would imagine that migrating v6 projects into v7 should not be that difficult. You will just need to make sure that any software packages you are using with v6 are "discovered" by v7.

    What device are you using?

CCSv7 should be released tomorrow. As I mentioned, one of the biggest changes revolves around licensing:

Not only are we no longer charging for v7, but we will also no longer be charging for earlier CCS versions. If you need a full license for v6, you can obtain one at the link below for no cost:

The above license will work with CCS version 4, 5 and 6 and is not tied to any user or PC.
    Enjoy!
    Thanks

  • Dear Ki,

It's great!! Thanks for your information.

We use TMS320C6415 with DSPBIOS v5.42.

    Alex

  • I believe the level of DSP/BIOS support in v7 is similar to v6 so as long as you have the same DSP/BIOS be "discovered" by v7, migrating your project to v7 should be fine.
