CCS/TMS320F28069M: GUI Composer exits before running

Part Number: TMS320F28069M

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

When I run the InstaSPIN Universal GUI the splash screen comes up and then the program exits without any notification.  I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times to no avail.  I have also contacted the InstaSPIN folds and they said it looked like an install problem and sent me your way.  Here are a few observations.

1) OS: Windows 10

2) Hardware: Launchpad XL 28069

3) XDS100 channel A and B are present in the device manager, but the serial port is not

4) In looking at the install log some of the components return a non-zero value, but the install program itself reports things were installed OK.

Here is a snipit from the install log

I would greatly appreciate any help as this has completely crippled our ability to evaluate your product for our pressing motor control needs.

Thanks!

  • Hi,

Please apologize for the delay on this reply. Are you still having this issue?

I am not very familiar with the InstaSPIN GUI, but the error messages indicate the low-level device drivers for the different JTAG debuggers are failing to install. Since these device drivers require admin privileges as they modify the OS, it is possible that you have to run the installer as an Administrator.

I will think of additional details and report back.

    Hope this helps,
    Rafael
