CCS/TMS320C6655: Trace confusion

I would like to use TRACE feature for code coverage. 

There is a confusion in documentation because for example for some information TMS320C6655 technical reference sends me to SPRU655I and then SPRU655I  sends me to TMS320C6655 technical reference documentation. 

On the other hand SPRU655I  states that XDS506 have no  ability for core tracing but processors.wiki.ti.com/.../XDS560_Trace claims that XDS560 has this ability. 

And by the way TMS570LC4357 technical reference manual use ETM as abbreviation for EXTERNAL trace macrocell instead of EMBEDDED trace macrocell. And I can't find any explaination. 

Where I can find an answer to the question: Has this (or any I would like to consider)  processor ability to TRACE code execution (instruction trace) and which emulator and software I have to use.

    I am not entirely sure where in the documentation this ping-pong happens, but the SPRU655I needs to be updated. I filed a request to update it.

    The XDS560 is a discontinued product that was replaced by the XDS560v2 and the XDSPROTRACE. Please read on for additional details.

    Yes, the TMS570LC4357 TRM is wrong. I can try to contact the responsible for this manual to do an update.

    The C6655 is fully capable of Instruction and System trace using XDS560v2 and XDSPROTRACE. I strongly suggest the following references:
