CCS: Linux Mint 17 CCS will not connect to Tm4C123GH6PM launchpad

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C123GH6PM, TM4C1294NCPDT

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I have installed CCS 6 on Linux Mint 17 yesterday and ran it's updates. the compiler is working fine, but debugging is a problem.

I can select the stellaris in circuit debug interface in the target configuration file, but after saving, the "Test Connection"  button stays greyed out.

Trying any other debug interface returns an error.

What can be causing this?

Regards,

Ruud

  • Ruud,

This is expected. The Stellaris In-Circuit Debug Interface does not feature the Test Connection button.

What is not expected is it not work. There is a discussion about the same board on Linux that has some troubleshooting tips at:
    e2e.ti.com/.../564453

Another detail is that both Mint and the Ubuntu release mentioned in the thread above are not officially tested, therefore it is difficult to predict what are the possible problems that may happen.

    Hope this helps,
    Rafael
  • Hello Rafael,

I found the problem, caused by not knowing what to set.
I had to check " XDCTools" on the " Products" tab in the "General" properties of the project.

Now it's working fine with both a TM4C123GH6PM and a TM4C1294NCPDT launchpad board.

    Regards,

    Ruud
