Compiler/XTCIEVMK2LX: Which Device to Select in CCS Target Configuration File?

I am going to migrate from my current TCIEVMK2K (TCI6638K2K) to TCIEVMK2L board. I am not able to see TCIEVMK2LX SoC name (I assume it is TCI6630K2L) in the list of platform and even it is not in the device list of target devices. I have also installed ti_emupack_keystone2_setup_1.0.0.4 plus CCS/MCSDK inside the flash drive came with board to make sure that I am not missing it from the installation point of view.


Should I use another similar target device for using this SoC or I am missing something in here?

    Hi,

    The target device you mentioned is correct, but more recent versions of the Keystone II device support already come with the other device name as shown below:

    For practical purposes the two devices are identical.

    Thank you Rafael for your help.My problem is actually that I do not have any k2l device in the list.

    I am using Code Composer Studio Version: 5.5.0.00077. Should I install newer version? Version 5.5 is the one came with the board in flash drive. It seems to me that I am missing something here in installation. I even downloaded and installed the processor SDK from:

    www.ti.com/.../PROCESSOR-SDK-K2L

    Can you please check the list of my Installed Software in CCS below and let me know if I have to install additional software to have it in the list of devices?

    Ardalan,

    You have two options:

    - install a newer version of CCS in a separate directory and use a different workspace (two or more versions can coexist this way). The biggest advantage is to benefit from the various added features and bug fixes. The biggest disadvantage is that some of the Keystone SDKs were designed to use CCSv5.x and moving to CCSv6.x may require an extra effort.

    - update your Keystone II device support package in CCSv5.5. To do this, simply go to menu Help --> Install new software and do the selections as shown below:

    After this update, you should have the TCI6630K2L:
