Compiler/MSP430F5659: how to integrate the lint with CCS v6

MISRA checking is built-in to the TI MSP430 compiler.  You can read about it in the MSP430 compiler manual.  In CCS, right click on the name of your project and choose Show Build Settings.  In the dialog box that comes up, in the directory tree like structure on the left, browse to Build | MSP430 Compiler | Advanced Options | MISRA-C:2004 .

I have question, once i enabled Misra C i got huge warnings, If i want to suppress some warning example below

 warning #1387-D: (MISRA-C:2004 8.7/R) Objects shall be defined at block scope if they are only accessed from within a single function (variable "ti_sysbios_family_msp430_Timer_Object__table__C") .xdchelp /TI_RTOS_TEST1 line 3264 C/C++ Problem

What i have to do in settings, I know we can deselect particular item in MISRA C enable check box,

But apart from this can we suppress in any other manner.

Please guide,

I would appreciate if u can help in important checkbox to be used while enabling the MISRA C

I am getting warning, most of the warning are TI base files, Is it possible to discard the files from MISRA C check while compiling the project

Unfortunately, you have the same issue discussed in this forum thread.  In summary, TI-RTOS code is not MISRA clean.  And there is no good way you can build your code with MISRA checks enabled, while at the same time disabling those MISRA checks when the TI-RTOS code builds.  Entry TIRTOS-908 was filed to have this issue addressed.  I will let the relevant teams know another customer has encountered this problem.

Here is one related idea to consider.  It is not practical for some situations.  But it might work well in your case.

In the C source, after including the TI-RTOS header files, you could add this pragma ...

#pragma CHECK_MISRA("all")

That enables MISRA checks for the rest of that source file.

The #pragma which corresponds to CHECK_MISRA is RESET_MISRA.  On the command line, use something like --check_misra=none .  Please read more about these features in the MSP430 compiler manual.
