CCS/TMS320F28377S: Cannot Setup the BOOST-DRV8711 Firmware

Hi !

I am Getting the following error when i try to import the project as mentioned in the user guide

See details below.
Error: Import failed for project 'BOOST-DRV8711_FIRMWAREv1.1' because its compiler definition is not available. The project does not appear to be a 'CCS Project'. Please try importing it through the 'General > Existing Projects into Workspace' wizard.

The above said error appears when I try to import it through Code Composer Studio-->CCS Project

When I imported it through General--> Existing Project I got the following error.

Please use the 'Code Composer Studio > CCS Projects' wizard to import the project 'BOOST-DRV8711_FIRMWAREv1.1'.

Is there a solution for this?

Hi,

The User's guide instructions for this booster pack uses the MSP430G2553 Launchpad, but your post mentions a TMS320F28377S part number.

Therefore you will need this Launchpad to properly follow the instructions.

The error message is caused by the fact your CCS install may only have a F28x compiler, thus preventing the basic project to be imported due to the absence of a MSP430 compiler.

To solve this you need to install the device support for MSP430 devices.Check section 3.1 of the following page:

Which version of CCS are you using?
