CCS/CCSTUDIO: XDS510USB plus fatal error: Device lost

Hi

I'm working on CCS6.1 (linux) with XDS510plus probe, occasionally get into a mode where i try to connect to the target and get the following error:

Error connecting to the target:

Error 0x80002280/-1250

Fata Error during: Target Communication, OCS, Control

Device driver: Lost USB connection to emulator.

You should ABORT and restart to re-establish the USB link.

now, i tried issuing "clean" and "reset" of the target from the sdjtag cli, but still stuck. the only thing releasing it is rebooting the linux machine

any ideas how to release the target properly?

    Hi,

    The sdjtag clean should help removing zombie Spectrum Digital processes, but can you try to see if ccstudio itself is also zombie?

    If you find nothing, sometimes a disconnect/reconnect of the USB cable in a different port helps th OS re-enumerate the USB device.

    Also, I have seen in the past random disconnects like these also be caused by power saving features on the host PC.

    I will try to think about additional scenarios and report back to this thread.
