CCS4 and F283XX simulator

Hi,

I want to know the number of cycles a function needs. I cannot find a cycle counter. The most similar thing I found is Target/Clock. I set Enable and View, but it doesn't change when I step trough the function.

I didn't find any docs on this.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

    I just tried it with a C6713 project. The profile clock works!

    But back to F28335 and it is not moving again!

    This is a known issue with 283x simulators (SDSCM00037319). It has been fixed in the CCS v4.1.3. The 4.1.3 full download is currently available and the patch update will be available in a few days.

    Hello Bernhard,

    Can you please let me know the full version of the CCSv4 you are using ,as I could see the Target->clock working as expected when i step through the function on the F283xx simulator on my machine.

    The CCS version can be found from the Menu Help->About Code composer studio  in CCSv4.

    CCS: 4.1.2.00027

    CCS C2000: 4.0.0.201003161800

    C2000 Tools: 5.2.7

    I did a SW update. The code generation tools where updated, but afterwards the result was still the same.

    How do I get this patch Ki-Soo Lee mentioned (via software updates)? How long until it is out?

    Or should I use the full download? Can I use the license file I already have?

    The patch is not available yet. It will still be another week or two it appears. Once it is ready, it will be available via SW update

    Should I uninstall my 4.1.2 CCS before installing 4.1.3?

     It is not necessary to uninstall 4.1.2, you can install 4.1.3 in a separate folder if you wish to keep both versions. If you wish to install to the same location, it is best to uninstall 4.1.2 first, make sure the folder is completely deleted and then install 4.1.3.
