CCS/SIMPLELINK-MSP432-SDK: Opening TI Resource Explorer Crashes CCS on Mac OSX Sierra

Part Number: SIMPLELINK-MSP432-SDK

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

Every time I try to open TI Resource Explorer in Code Composer 7 on my Mac, Code Composer hangs and crashes. This issue "magically" appeared sometime in the last 24hrs, but was working correctly before. I have uninstalled and reinstalled CCS, as well as made a new workspace, and the issue persists.

Is there someway I can debug this? If not, is there someway I could download all of the example projects to my local hard drive and easily import from there when I need to start a new project?

Thanks

I will see if I can reproduce this behavior on my Mac. In the meantime, to get you going, yes you can download the SDK from the TI website (www.ti.com/.../simplelink-msp432-sdk), install it to your local hard drive and import projects using Resource Explorer Classic (menu View->Resource Explorer Classic). You can follow the steps in this wiki section to have Resource Explorer Classic discover the SDK package.

    Hope this helps.

  • Thanks for your help.

The problem went away for some reason earlier today/yesterday, so I'm not sure exactly what is causing this.

  • James,

I was told that we fixed some server side issues with Resource Explorer earlier this week, which is likely what addressed your problem as well.

Thank you for letting us know that things are working now. I will mark this thread as answered, but if you encounter an issue again at a later time, do let us know.

  • Hi,

This bug came back again. I can't open either Resource Explorer or Resource Explorer Classic on my Mac without it crashing.

To work around the issue on my end, I went to dev.ti.com/tirex, found the example I needed, and imported the project to the Cloud IDE. I was then able to download the project from the Cloud IDE and import it into CCS on my desktop from there.

This isn't too bad of a process, particularly since I've started just using the empty example project from everything now, but it's still pretty annoying, especially for someone getting started

    Thanks,

    James
