CCS/MSP430F5529: add MSP430 targets after CCS install

Part Number: MSP430F5529

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I upgraded to CCS7 and I have a number of devices installed but I dont have the MSP430.   I attempted to load the software related to the MSP430 using the in software tool .   I went to  HELP-> INSTALL NEW SOFTWARE...then selected everything that has MSP430 .

It took 20 minutes or so for everything to get installed then I restarted the software.   I went to open a new project and could not find the MSP430 devices in the "target" cell.   I closed the program and restarted the computer thinking maybe this would help.  But still cannot add the MSP430 compiler target configuration libraries.

Do I need to uninstall Code Composer?

How do I get this to work?

Thanks,

Chris

  • Hi Chris,
You will need to rerun the original installer for CCS and select the current installation folder for the install directory. The installer will then detect an existing installation and allow you to add additional components like additional device support. Once you have that base device support, you can update it from inside CCS. But you need that base device support installed first.

    Thanks
