hi this is Ramkumar from chennai, india. i am working in TMS320C6745 board .  It is my own designed with on emulator xds100v1 also we can connect external emulator . ?In that board i have 3.3 v and 1.2v supply. i got a error when i communicate with external emulator. so can u anyone pls tel how to debug this error. Actually the emulator communicate with processor that is its scanned processor and try to communicate but the processor is not sending any data so i got a error. This is basic emu circuit only.

Error connecting to the target:
Error 0x80000240/-1146
Fatal Error during: Initialization, OCS,
Invalid data was scanned by the emulation controller.
Verify the board setup to make sure the scan chain is properly
defined.
If the setup is correct, then RESET EMULATOR.  This will disconnect each
target from the emulator.  The targets should then be power cycled
or hard reset followed by an emureset and reconnect to each target.

    My I delete your other posting that appears to be a duplicate, to avoid duplicate efforts and confusion?

    Did you start from a reference design for the C6747/5 with the on-board xds100v1? If so, what changes did you make?

    I have not seen the documentation on how to implement the on-board emulation and then to share with an external emulator. But the documentation should be clear on what you need to do for connections to make this work.

    Can you bypass the on-board emulator to use only the external one and verify that it will communicate properly?

    no this is my own design. but xds100 emulator is ref design. Actually i designed xds100 emulator alone. it working fine.. the same circuit i am using in on board emulator but i got error  when i connect to processor. but  in my board  one option is there that is external emulator connector. by using xds100 emulator externally  i got a same error. i hope this ccs 4 settings problem, but not sure.

     

    bypass means what u are trying to tel. i'm using different connections (i.e net name is different) this is not collapse with on board emu. can u tel the xds100 is working fine with ccs v4???. it is suitable for C6745 using ccs4.i confused with it.i have a one doubt. the processor doesn't have emu0 and emu 1 pin. is there any problem with it.the JTAG conector 14 pin is connected directly to processor. pls tel the correct debug.
