Jason,
The bug report says that:
"Any Eclipse version since 3.3 (released 2007) until and including the recent Helios release (2010) has been reported to crash with an OutOfMemoryError due to this regression,"
CCSv4 is based on Eclipse 3.2, therefore it does not seem to be affected. Also, it comes bundled with a specific version of Java that is proven to work.
CCSv5 is based on the latest Eclipse 3.6, but just like CCSv4 it comes bundled with a specific version of Java. The main potential issue is if v5 components are installed in an existing Eclipse IDE, which can use a release affected by this bug.
In the meantime the most probable workaround is to install a complete version of CCSv5 or use a previous version of Java with CCSv5 installed in an existing Eclipse installation.
Cheers,
Rafael
