CCS/CCSTUDIO: Command Line Project Create fails with AssertionFailedException

Hello,

We are using CCS 7.0.0.00043 for command line project create. We observe an exception during project create and message in console is as below(only first few lines):

org.eclipse.core.runtime.AssertionFailedException: assertion failed: 
at org.eclipse.core.runtime.Assert.isTrue(Assert.java:110)
at org.eclipse.core.runtime.Assert.isTrue(Assert.java:96)
at com.ti.common.project.core.OutputType.createReference(OutputType.java:109)

We have noted that this exception happens only while creating library projects (-ccs.outputType staticLibrary). There is no issue while creating application projects (-ccs.outputType executable)

We strongly believe that this issue is specific to CCV7, because we don't the see the issue with CCS 6.1.3.00034

Please let us know how to resolve this issue.

Nijin,

Have you given the latest CCS 7.1.0 a try? If not, could you please try that version and let us know if the issue is fixed?

I suspect your issue may be related to CCSIDE-3026, which is fixed in 7.1.0. If your issue persists with 7.1.0 then it must be a new/different issue.

We tried with CCS 7.1.0.00015(march 06, 2017) and the issue persists. Please let us know if you need any additional details

I have sent via e-mail the command line output and a screenshot captured when the project import failed.

Nijin,

Using the command line provided offline as a reference, I was able to reproduce this failure.

A simple projectCreate command line that triggers the error is:

eclipsec -noSplash -data <dir> -application com.ti.ccstudio.apps.projectCreate -ccs.name Newproj -ccs.device MSP430F5529 -ccs.outputType staticLibrary -rtsc.enableRtsc -rtsc.platform ti.platforms.msp430:MSP430F5529 -rtsc.target ti.targets.msp430.elf.MSP430X

This is being tracked in bug # CCSIDE-3100.

Hi Nijin,

This issue will be fixed in the upcoming CCS v7.2.0.

You can work-around this issue in your current CCS build, by changing "-ccs.outputType staticLibrary" to "-ccs.outputType rtscConfiguration" in your headless command.
