CCS/EK-TM4C123GXL: Cannot import TI-RTOS examples, causes error

I just installed Code Composer Studio and was playing around with some of the examples. I can download all the examples from the TM4C ARM Cortex-M4F MCU - v:2.1.2.156 and the TI-RTOS for TivaC - v:2.16.00.08, no problems. When i go to "Import to IDE" button on the top right the TI-RTOS projects cause an error. This doesn't not error when importing from the TM4C folder (i.e. blinky, freeRTOS_demo).

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the TI-RTOS package, no change.

What is causing this? google didn't have an answer. I'm using CCS7 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I tried running it as sudo, the error changed slightly to give a clue as to why it isn't working.

"Error importing project. Location cannot be resolved: "/home/benb/workspace_7/@ti-rex-content/tirtos_tivac_2_16_00_08/resources/ek_tm4c123GXLEvaluationKit/... etc""

there is a folder in "/home/benb/ti/tirtos_tivac_2_16_00_08/.... etc etc" how to I change CCS to recognize the other path. something with how it expands the @ti-rex-content variable. I can't find where this is stored. I'll keep looking.

i made a symbolic link to "~/ti" inside the workspace directory where it is trying to look "@ti-rex-content". it has solved the issue i guess. i hope i didn't use a hacky workaround for a larger problem. weird that it finds the TM4C files but not the tirtos_tivac since they're in the same place.
