Importing StellarisWare into CCS V4 Trouble

I have read the other post and answer but I still do NOT get a clean import or a build. During the import process I get the following errors:

- For each Import I get a Managed Make project file error/warning ( I get this each time I start CCS and for each file in the C/C++ project list, I real pain)

Attempting to compile I get:

"cpus\cortex_m3.xml does not exit. Was included in the ...ccsv4\common\targetdb\Devices\lm3s9b96.xml" ( or what every part/kit I use)

Any positive help we be great..

Thanks

  • Hi David,

installing Stellarisware and importing it to CCS should be a straight forward process!

    1.) Install CCS
    2.) Install StellarisWare
3.) Start CCS and open a workspace
4.) Import librarys (click on Projects->Import existing CCS project; be shure to select Stellarisware/driverlib)
5.) If you need them also import the USB (sStellarisware/usblib) and the Graphics Lib (Stellarisware/grlib)
6.) Now import the board example

The QUICKSTART FOR CODE COMPOSER STUDIO (i.e. http://www.ti.com/litv/pdf/spmu132b) gives you all the details how to d this.

    Kind regards

Thanks for your response. That is what i have done a number of times, per the spmu132b. I get the same results.  I did install the trial version on a separate laptop and I  was successful on the first attempt to import. No manage warnings and successful compile.

There were a few things that were different though.

First the trial version was the CCS premium.

Second the install was to a user defined directory, not the default.

  • David,

The error points to target XML descriptions and not source files.

The existing configuration file <lm3s9b96.xml> located in <CCS_install_dir>\ccsv4\common\targetdb\Devices seems to be pointing to the correct cpu core <cortex_m3.xml>, therefore it seems this file is missing due to an unknown factor (disk corruption?).

Can you check if the file <cortex_m3.xml> exists in the directory <CCS_install_dir>\ccsv4\common\targetdb\cpus?

If not, please check a copy of this file attached. If you encounter further errors you may need to reinstall CCSv4 since other files may be missing.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael

Thanks for the response. I figured it was a not a source file issue. It turned out that the CD/DVD CCS version I received had a number of issues. After doing an uninstall and a complete install from a updated source that problem went away. And like everything new ones appeared..

    Thanks
