CCS/CCSTUDIO-C2000: An error occurred when trying to install updates on Mac 10.11.6.

I have tried several time to install updates for CCS on my MAC.  The updates failed with the following message:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed

What is needed to resolve this issue? Is the update looking to the web or my computer for the files?

    It checks for updates on the TI web server. We haven't encountered this issue on a Mac before, so I'm not sure if this will help, but could you try these steps:

    Go to Window -> Preferences -> Install/Update sites.

    Select one of the existing enabled sites in the list. Reload it by clicking the Reload button.

    Save and exit CCS.

    Restart CCS and try your update.
