CCS/CODECOMPOSER: Frequent "java.lang.StackOverflowError" errors during debug

I have CCS 6.2, CC2650 project w/TI RTOS, WIN7/64. Frequently after clicking on UI elements, Code Composer spits out "java.lang.StackOverflowError" and prompts to exit CCS.

It is extremely annoying and unusable. Is there a remedy for this?

Hi Andrew,
Would it be possible to move to the latest version of CCS (CCSv7.1)? Or at least try it out for a bit. There have been many bug fixes and stability enhancements since CCSv6.2 so I would like for you to try it out and see if that helps resolve your problem.

Hello Ki, I can do this, but can i still develop for CC2650 / BT stack with CCS7?

If so, are there any special requirements to make it build and work? thanks

Yes it should not be a problem. CCSv7.x has been out for some time now and many people have been using to develop for a CC2650

For the benefit of others who may find this thread, you can develop with CCSv7.1 with CC2650/CC2640 in addition to CC2640R2F.

For CC2640/CC2650, please review the Getting Started FAQ in the TI BLE Forum. Note that you must use TI Compiler v5.2.6 with BLE-Stack v2.2.x. The procedure can be found in the BLE SW Developer's Guide for BLE-Stack v2.2.1 (SWRU393) or the online BLE SW User's Guide:
