CCS: CCSv7, macOS Sierra (v10.12), and IDE Bliss

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello Any Mac TI Developers,

Is there a place where Mac CCS users discuss their experiences or problems other than the general (this) CCS forum? Maybe I just don't know the secret handshake.

What I would like to state is that I just completed the migration of my MSP430FR59xx development tool chain--consisting of MathWorks MATLAB/Simulink with Embedded Coder, and TI's Code Composer Studio v7.1--to run natively on my Mac. When last I had looked into this years ago it was too "beta", but now it all works great. Installation was without a hiccup, the FET probe just works, and I no longer need my virtual Windows machine for the main development. (I still use a VM for some other support utilities, but not for the vast majority of my coding and debugging now.)

So because I don't know of an e-mail address to send this message to I'll state it here: THANK YOU Texas Instruments, and especially the CCS team responsible for the Mac native version.

Cheers,

Bill.

  • Bill,

This forum is as good as any for discussing feedback.

CCS has come a long way on Mac. We still have work to do to make it better in terms of getting feature parity as well as being more of a true Mac application. As I look around TI offices these days there are a lot more Macs, that helps a lot.

Thanks for your feedback. I will pass it on to the team.

    Regards,
    John
