Using the IQMath libray in linear assembly

Hi,

Is it possible to call a IQMath library function out of a linear assembly code? For example with the .call command??

.global callback_part
_callback_part: .cproc A_xp, B_xp, P_xp, Q_xp
               .no_mdep

    .reg A_tmp, B_tmp

        MV         A_xp,             A_tmp
        MV         B_xp,             B_tmp
        .call         A_tmp0 = _IQatan(B_tmp0)           <---------???

Hi,

the problem is, that the linker can't find the reference, even if I link the project direct with the IQmath libraries. I receive the following error.

undefined                        first referenced
symbol                              in file
---------                        ----------------
_IQsqrt                          D:\\***\\obj\\callback_mmse_sqrd_gr_32.obj

_IQNsqrt D:\\***\\obj\\callback_mmse_sqrd_gr_32.obj

>> error: symbol referencing errors -

I use the follwoing linker command:

-q -c -m".\Debug\sqrd_gr_asm.map" -o".\Debug\sqrd_gr_asm.out" -x -i"$(Proj_dir)\IQmath_v213\lib\IQmath_c64x" -l"rts6200.lib" -l"IQmath_c64x+.lib" -l"IQmath_RAM_c64x+.lib"

Tobias,

You have to define the external symbols in the linear assembly file.

Otherwise the compiler wont search for the function in the libraries. That is the reason you are getting the linker error.

Please add the following line before .global callback_part.

.global _IQsqrt

Please refer to the document Mariana has pointed out and search for the .call directive for more information.

Please let me know if this solves the problem or you still face issues.

Hi,

thanks for your help. I solved the problem in the mean while.

I forgot an extra "_" for the external symbol.

.global __IQNsqrt

I am glad that you could resolve the issue.

I missed to notice that the API name has an "-" as a prefix.

So you also changed the function call to ".call A_tmp0 = __IQatan(B_tmp0) ", right?
