CCS: how to retrieve system time and print it in the console

Looks like you got an answer to the first part of your question in the thread below:

Now the remaining question is how to print it out to the console. One option is to use C I/O (like printf). However this can be costly on an MSP430 in performance and memory footprint. In some cases, the device simply does not have resources for it. You can always reroute printf to another transport. Both options are discussed in the below thread:
