CCS/TMDSLCDK6748: Resource Explorer stuck offline

Part Number: TMDSLCDK6748

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I just upgraded CCS from 7.1 to 7.2. On first launch I went into Resource Explorer but it did is set to offline mode and I can not get it to go online.

I checked the Preferences for Network > Proxy as the troubleshooting guide suggested. Made no difference and also I am not using any proxy anyway.

I also tried completely diabling the Windows firewall just to make 100% sure that it wasn't blocking CCS or other process unintentionally.

So, how do I get Resource Explorer to work?

  • Hello Greger,
Which version of 7.2.0 do you have? If it is 7.2.0.00012, then this is a known issue and was resolved in 7.2.0.00013.

    7.2.0.00013 is now available:

    Thanks

  • Thank you, ki! That was it. All I needed to do was a complete reinstall of CCS.

But come on, seriously... CCS has a self update functionality but it can not update by itself from 7.2.0.00012 to 7.2.0.00013!
My impression of Texas Instruments is not the best right now. After plowing through outdated "Getting started guides" all week trying to get somewhere with the LCDK Evaluation Module. Not finding anything related to C674x or the LCDK in the Resource Explorer. Sifting through endless superfluous text looking for that key piece of information that one actually needs. Then on top of all that having to deal with bugs like this. And I have barely gotten to actual code libraries yet. *Rant over*.

  • Sorry about that. We detected the issue shortly after build 12 went out and took it off line quickly but obviously there were still some people who got their hands on it. Our goal was to have a new release with a fix ASAP instead of providing an upgrade path from 12 to 13.

Yes, Resource Explorer is most applicable to our MCU line. We'd love to get everyone's content to show up in there but right now that is not the case. I would browse around in the C674x device forum. The experts there can definitely give some good pointers on how to get started with your current environment

    Thanks
