I have been trying to install CCS in various configurations so I may use my XDS100 JTAG. So far, I've had little luck; my Windows XP machine locks up when trying to install the XDS560 driver in both CCS 4.1.2.00027 as well as the current version of CCS. In both cases, while installing the TI emulator, it locks up completely when "cleaning up install." If I have my antivirus on (Kaspersky Lab) it warns me about some suspected viral activity (something that looks like PCM), and when I allow this, the machine locks up. If I disable Kaspersky, Windows notifies me that my antivirus is disabled at this point, and the machine locks up before I get a chance to do anything. When I reboot the machine, the Hardware Update Wizard notices that there is a new device, and tries to install it. If I allow it to do so, it locks up at the end of copying the XDS560 PCI JTAG Emulator's xds560.sys file. I don't even know why it requires me to install the XDS560 when the only JTAG I have/want is the XDS100.
I am wondering if there is a way to fix or work around this issue. I am also wondering if there is a way to use the JTAG on Linux... I seem to have much much more luck on Linux.
Thank you for your support
