Hello,

I am trying to find a way to install the F28XX On Chip Programmer onto one of our production computers that has CCStudio 3.1 (Platinum Edition 3.1.19.0) installed on it, but am having trouble finding out how to do this. If CCS3.1 is too out of date, then would anyone happen to know which of the more recent versions will support for the OCP?

The forums provide a link that tells me that “Registration is no longer required for this product”, but does not actually tell me how to download whatever it is that needs to be downloaded.

What debug probe / emulator are you using with your device? And which exact 28xx device are you using?

The latest CCS version (7.2) supports both your emulator and device. A on-chip flash programmer is integrated with the debugger to provide a seamless flashing experience. I would suggest using this version as CCSv3.1 is very old and no longer supported.

Ki,

Just wanted to update you on this.
Since your last reply, I have downloaded the most recent CCS version and have had moderate success with porting the CCS3.1 project over. I am now experiencing issues with the actual programming portion.

The emulator connects, and I am able to load an .out file, but once the load is complete, a window appears with red font saying that there is "No source available for 0x3f7736" which refers to a function that is, to the best of my knowledge, included in the project. Have you had any experience with something like this?

Hi Nick,
The error message is quite common. As you guessed, it means that there is no source correlation found in the debug symbols with the program address specified. But you mentioned that there is indeed correlation with the loaded symbols. Can you open the module view (View -> Modules) and confirm this with the function in question?

I opened the module view and see the .out file listed. I'm not terribly sure what to look for to confirm in the way that you offered above, however.
