CCS/TMS320F28375D: CCS crashes when entering debug

Part Number: TMS320F28375D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, CCSTUDIO

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 on a dell server machine.

Linux itws005 4.2.0-42-generic #49~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 29 20:22:11 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I downloaded CCS v7 just last week, so it should be a recent version.

When I go to open the debugger to flash the built image to the device, it has a JRE crash.

I've put the console output below, and attached the error log that is generated.

BTW, We're using CCS7 to attempt to program the flash because UniFlash is not working either. :(

thanks

Jerry

  • Hi Jerry,
Can you update Ubuntu to get the latest patches? There was a issue where CCS on Linux was crashing due to a bug in one of the older kernel updates and a recent kernel update fixed the bug. Your issue sounds bit different than the other cases so I'm not sure if you have the same issue but I do notice your kernel version is a bit older and it is worth a try.

    Thanks

  • no longer crashing with linux 4.4.0-89 generic. I'm having some other issues now, but will post in different thread.
