CCS: Update Error

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I am trying to update Code Composer Studio after it gave me notification that updates are available. Unfortunately, after attempting to update, I receive the notification below.

I am using Code Composer 7.1.0 with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, and have MSP430 and Hercules build tools installed. My install logs (from an error report, which also failed and then instructed me to post here) are also attached.

How should I proceed?

Hi Adam,
Did you take all the updates and only the ones in the screenshot above failed?

Yes, I simply clicked the yellow notification box that appears when new updates are available, selected all the available updates, and then went through the install procedure as prompted. The failure took place sometime after Code Composer Studio closed and the installers began working. I'm not sure if other updates were successful or not.

Should I try something different; perhaps select only one update at a time and see which ones fail?

Sorry for the delay. The logs indicate the failure for the MSP430 components first occurred when you ran the update on 7/26. The rest of the updates were successful but those ones. Something got corrupted and hence subsequent updates fail. We don't know why the cause of the corruption.

I would recommend installing CCSv7.2.0 fresh (in a clean new directory)

There is also a 7.3.0 release coming at the end of the month but it is up to you if you wish to wait that long.

I just tried reinstalling, and the install failed. I've attached the logs, and will try again.

I disabled my virus software and retried. Still failed. Logs are attached.

Adam - sorry for all the pains you are experiencing. Looking at the logs, I believe you are using the web installer. Can you try using the off-line installer instead (again, installing in a clean new empty location)?

The offline installer worked!

After installing, I then selected Help --> Check for Updates, a window titled "Contacting Software Sites" appears, and then it presented me with new updates for my compiler tools. I followed the prompts, and the updates succeeded.

After updating compiler tools, selecting Help --> Check for Updates says "No updates were found in available software sites." Yay!
