Hello TI,

Just need an info on code composer studio.

Is this software free from all limitations from code limits or functionalities?

If a customer who is using ccs, need to pay a charge or royalty charge for debugger and software. As in launchpad, debugger is inside it but when designing a board, one need to purchase debugger for ti chips.

Bcz we used to program mcu using reset, test, gnd and vcc but in mass production, is this process is done using msp-fet debug probe with msp-flasher.

I have CCS and want to program MSP432 chips for mass production. Do i need a separate debug probe programmer to do this or can i do this using launchpad.

Please help here.

Kushanga,

There is no license fee for Code Composer Studio. You can also use UniFlash for programming.

The MSP432 LaunchPad has an embedded XDS110 debug probe. Section 2.3.4 of the MSP432P401R LaunchPad users guide (www.ti.com/.../slau597) explains how to use it with your own board.

Thanks for the above answer.

But if i want to use MSP432P401R in my mass production of a project. so for mass production of that specific board, how will i program and debug this MCU without launchpad. I mean is there any specific debugger or programmer for mass production of boards bcz we cant use launchpad using 4 wire connection of GND, VCC, TEST & RESET.

Like when one use keil ide, they have to use debugger from KEIL U-Link to debug or program any ic in mass production.

You could use a TMDSEMU110-U.

Or it is also possible to use the MSP-GANG programmer.
