I've had CCS 3.1 working under Windows XP for several weeks just fine. A few days ago, however, a strange thing began happening: most of the time (although not every time), when I attempt to open the message log (using the "DSPBIOS/Message Log" menu), CCS invokes a "Windows Installer" message box with the message "Preparing to install...".
The "installation" however never progresses past that point - I've waited for hours. Also, pressing Cancel on the message box changes the text to "cancelling" but then the cancellation never occurs - the message box remains open indefinitely. All the while the main CCS application is still available and debugging and other activities can be performed, but the message log window never appears.
Any clues on what's causing this and/or how to resolve the problem would be appreciated.
