Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

How do you clone workspace of Code Composer Studio 6 on the same machine?

is there anything that limits CCS6 to have just one workspace?

I would like to clone the workspace as a starting point for the future development.

Yet, I have to keep the old workspace for the support of old product.

This is necessary, since as you know, workspace is a 'personal thing' and it is not something that is to be put under the source control, since it does not propagate to other developers and their machines.

I tried to copy the content of the workspace into the newly named folder, and to switch to it, but that seems to fail.

No, CCS can use multiple workspaces. Not only is this supported, but it is encouraged.

I think this should work, especially if the new folder is in the same root location as the old workspace folder.

What is the failure you see? Is there any error messages?

    Thanks

  • Thanks for the answer, yes it works if I copy it within the same root folder. No, it didn't work for me when I tried to move it to another folder under another user name (Windows10). This is satisfactory solution for now.
