CCS/MSP430F5529: MSP-FET430UIF installation for CCS 4.1.2

Part Number: MSP430F5529

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I'm working with CCS 4.1.2.00027

I'm aware this is an old version but I have to compile and debug a project developed few years ago.

The JTAG I'm using is MSP-FET430UIF

The Host's O.S is win7-64

The CCS 4.1.2 installation contains a driver in ccsv4\emulation\drivers\msp430\USB_FET_Win7_64

But when I tried to update the driver from this location I got:

Windows was unable to install your Texas Instruments MSP430-JTAG

Can you please help ?

Thank you,

Zvika

  • Hello Zvika,

This is a known issue where the 64-bit device driver installer that comes with CCS v4 does not install properly and is not able to load the driver when the board is connected. You will need to manually install the drivers inside of the Device Manager as compared to CCS. Please see the FAQ Wiki page: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../FAQ_-_CCSv4

I highly recommend upgrading CCS versions and installing the project's native compiler.

    Regards,
    Ryan
