CCS/MSP-FET430UIF: CCS v4.2.4.00033 "Error Initializing emulator: No USB FET was found"

Part Number: MSP-FET430UIF

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

We are running Code Composer Studio version 4.2.4.00033 on a Windows 7 32-bit machine. We are trying to download code onto an MSP430 using the MSP-FET430UIF V1.4a, however, we have been receiving the following error "Error Initializing Emulator: No USB FET was found". When we look at the windows device manager, the MSP-FET shows up as a COM port with the following name: MSP-FET430UIF-CDC.

Does anyone have a solution for getting Code Composer to recognize and use the MPS-FET?

Hello,
Please note that you are using a very old (and unsupported) version of CCS. I suggest first updating your CCS version:
e2e.ti.com/.../1428310

Hello Ki,
We were looking for a solution that did not involve installing a newer version of CCS. However we bit the bullet and convinced our customer to update their codebase. After updating, CCS was able to recognize and use the debugger. Thank you.
