CCS: Parallel installation of different CCS versions on one machine

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Team,

is it possible to have multiple CCS versions on one machine, eg CCSv6 and CCSv7?

One of my customers uses different TI parts and they need different CCS version. They don't need to run in parallel.
Are there any problems to be expected?

I guess I need to set a separete installation path manually so both versions are not installed into the same directory?

Thanks!

  • Hello!

To my knowledge, that's perfectly OK, if 1) they installed in different folders, 2) they don't share workspaces. I have 3 of them on my machine as

    D:\>dir d:\ti\ccs* /a:d /b
    ccsv5
    ccsv6
    ccsv7

All work fine, keeping in mind some new packages in my TI folder might be incompatible with older versions, which, again, there is a way to manage.

  • Thanks! This works perfectly fine.

One more thing you need to pay attention to are the target files. When you create those, they are put into a shared folder.
In CCSv5 and CCSv6 you can change those settings and specify a folder.
    Not sure about CCSv7.

    Best regards!
