Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
I have uploaded one of the ready-made CC2640R2 examples onto my CCS Cloud Workspace.
The ReadMe document informs me that I need to change AUTO_ADV=FALSE to AUTO_ADV=TRUE in order to get the advertising on by default.
The ReadMe document only shows how to do it using CCS desktop, which is no use to me as I am using the cloud option.
So question. How does one change AUTO_ADV or any of the precompiler settings in CCS Cloud?
Thanks.
Unfortunately the Cloud IDE is limited in that aspect. It does not allow you to edit project settings and build options. If you need to do that we recommend installing the desktop version of CCS from http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS.
Ok, that is not ideal as I do not find the CCS desktop option easy to use and takes too long to download and then get up to speed with it (much prefer Keil IDE layout etc. to Eclipse and hs smaller download time and learnt how to use in half the time).
However, I do think that the CCS Cloud is the future and really like the ease in which you can do things and in my case have not had any problems flashing my device from it. Let's hope TI employees start to feel the same way and start to migrate across or at least adapt the examples to suit quicker (as in minimise precompiler use). Then most importantly begin to enhance it to hopefully allow those sort of precompiler options as regarded as necessary.
Thank you for the feedback. We acknowledge that being able to modify project properties in the Cloud IDE is a useful feature. We already have an enhancement request that we are tracking and hope to implement it some time in the future.
