Unnecessary CCS Rebuilds

CCS 4.1.2
BIOS 5.41.06
CGT 6.1.14

I think I've spotted a bug in CCS.  Please try the following:

  • Import attached project into CCS.
  • Double-click the tcf file to open in the BIOS configuration tool.
    • Note, the issue is only reproducible when the tcf is open in the configuration tool, even if no changes are made!!!
    • I see the "Modified" timestamp being updated for the tcf file.  The odd part though is that only when CCS is selected as the active window does the timestamp update.  So there seems to be some weird issue related to CCS updating the tcf "modified" timestamp when the file is open in the config tool.
  • Click the "debug" icon to build, load, etc. in the simulator (ccxml file included in project).
  • Click the "terminate" button.
  • Click the "debug" button again.  You'll see the entire project rebuilds!!!!

For the tiny projects I typically put together this isn't a big deal, but this can be a MAJOR nuisance for customers.

Best regards,
Brad

  • Brad,

I can duplicate this. There is already a defect submitted for several cases where CCS rebuilds the entire project when it is not required and I am going to add this scenario to that. The defect # is SDSCM00037521.
