CCSv4 and MSP-EXP430F5438

Hey everyone,

I tried compiling the Demo code for the User Experience of the TI MSP-EXP430F5438 but got an error while compiling. CCSv4 is complaining about not being able to open the header file <msp430x54xA.h>...

When I searched under the included directories I found that this file was missing! I tried to copy and paste the one from IAR Embedded Workbench, but the compiler complains that this file can only be used by ICC430/A430... Therefore, I would like to know where I can find this header file so that I can build the project?

That header file should be in:

<INSTALL DIR>\ccsv4\msp430\include

Does this path exist for you and is there any content inside?

Hi Ki-Soo

The path exists, and there are many header files in there, just not the msp430x54xA.h file... Here is a screen shot of the contents...

As you can see, the usual header files are there, but I don't have that required one...

What version of CCS are you using?

I've attached my copies of the files.

I am using the full licensed version of CSS: v.4.0.1.01001

That version is pretty old. Perhaps support for 5438A wasn't available with that version. I'd recommend you try updating your version of CCS. using the Update Manager.

Hi Ki,

Unfortunately, when trying to search for updates I get a message saying there are no new updates for the currently installed features... I will be working with this processor mostly though, so I guess that is all I will need.
