CCS/CCSTUDIO-MSP: (re)install error "Profile in use"

Part Number: CCSTUDIO-MSP

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I installed CCS V 7 to use with TI-RTOS but was getting version errors with XDC Tools  - I had no idea how to solve that so unistalled V7 and reverted to V6

I am working with a MSP430F5529LP board. CCS V6 was working fine up to yesterday BUT ...

V6 is now giving errors -

I tried to re buid an existing example project and get:

"Product 'TI-RTOS for MSP43x' v2.20.0.06 is not currently installed and no compatible version is available. Please install this product or a compatible version.  "

So i tried to re discover and re install products.

This process discovers 4 versions of xdctools however when i try to install I get an error "profile in use"

I also seem to have lost TI-RTOS and Resource Explorer will only offer to unistall it rather than re install so it has become confused.

So my CCS V6 is broken too.

I would welcome a simple recipe to resolve this so I can move forward.

I assume you left v6 alone, installed CCSv7 into a new location and then uninstalled it before going back to your existing v6 installation

Which exact CCSv6 version are you using?

if you are using 6.2, are you referring to the new cloud based Resource Explorer or the legacy Resource Explorer classic?

    Thanks
