Code Composer losing access to DK-LM3S9B96 EVM and recovery efforts take out Bluetooth mouse

Could you provide more details:

What is the full build number ('Help->About Code Composer Studio')?

Is this Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit?

Do you do anything in particular when it hangs?

This is Windows 64-bit machine.

The CCS build number is 4.1.3.00038.

It appears from your link that I will have to download and install DbgView. I’ll get started on this shortly.

After the crash, since the mouse is always dead, my only option is to restart the PC. Everything always comes up running thereafter.

Actually I was looking for the JVM and Eclipse Error Logs but if you don't might the extra work to get the Debug Server Logs, that would be excellent! Hopefully you can generate a log when you get the hang. My concern is that it is somewhat a random issue since it occurs 20% of the time. Those inconsistent issues are always the hardest to investigate.

I was just trying to export the error log. It is easily accessible view the menu options starting with "view." However the "export" option under the "file" heading does not allow the error file to be saved. Where is the export option?

If you have content in the window that you want to save, you can do a File->Save/Save As. There is also the icon that looks like a floppy disk.

Also - what emulation are you using? Are you using the on-board emulation (connect usb cable to the board)?

I looked at that previously. Save and Save As are greyed out. Any Suggetions?

I just generated a screen shot of the error log, thinking I could attach it to this post, however I don't see an attach option either!

There is a little icon called "Insert media" (looks like a cut of film) on the right side of the toolbar when you reply to a post. You can add a picture that way. Or you can attach files as described in the first FAQ of the forum readme:

I'm not sure why those options are greyed out. They should be available all the time. Are most menu items unavailable?

You can also just cut and paste the contents into notepad instead of having the tool save the contents.

Most of the menu items are not grayed out, with exception to save, save all, revert, move, rename, and refresh. Cutting and pasting is not a practical option as it is not possible to select a group of lines before hitting the copy button. Normally this would be done by selecting the endpoint of a group while holding down the shift button.

My apologies, we were thinking of two different logs. I was thinking of the log generated in DbgView and you were talking about the Eclipse/JVM error log. For the Eclipse log, you can just right-click in the log view and export it.
