CCS/CCSTUDIO: error initializing emulator

I just did a routine update on my CCS 6.1.3.00034.

It has been working fine and stable --- until after the routine update today >> Help >> Check for updates

Compile OK but when I hit 'deBUG' , I get this message....

Debugger initialization error

Error initializing emulator:
Unable to locate entry point for MSP430_EEM_SetClockControl2

And obviously the code doesn't download into the LP. I've been using the 2433LP for a couple of weeks now with no probs at all. Win 10. So, I'm stuck, nothing similar to this on the forum since 3~4 years.

Unfortunately for me, on my 2nd laptop, also Win10, I did the routine update as well. (OK, I shouldn't have...)

Hit debug, and get a similar message...

TI MSP430 USB1/MSP430

Error initializing emulator:

Could not set device Vcc

And as with the other laptop, this CCS installation was working fine / stable for well over a year !

I could really use some help !

Thanks Ki , I tried this, but still probs. Here is what I just did .....

On Laptop#1:
- I see ver 6.0.1.8 (via Help > about> CCS installation details > installed software > MSP430 emulators)
- I tried to upgrade (via Help > check for update > (contacting sw sites / ... )

- got this error message :

No repository found at downloads.ti.com/.../update1.

- then a window says that emulator v 6.9.0.0 is available BUT cannot be completed, with this message:

Software being installed: MSP430 Emulators and Device Support Files 6.9.0.0 (com.ti.ccstudio.msp430.emu.win32.feature.group 6.9.0.0)
Missing requirement: MSP430 Emulators and Device Support Files 6.9.0.0 (com.ti.ccstudio.msp430.emu.win32.feature.group 6.9.0.0) requires 'com.ti.ccstudio.debugserver.win32.feature.group 6.2.1' but it could not be found

On Laptop#2
- I tried to upgrade (via Help > check for update > (contacting sw sites / ... )
but it only offers ver 6.0.1.8

- I downloaded it anyway, but still same error message when I compile / download ..
( 'could not set device Vcc' )

Before your reply, I tried to get the simple LP 430G2 up and running, but I got the same errors. FYI

I tied a few things. I ended up uninstalling ccs 6.1.3 and installing fresh v6.2..
