CCS: Updating CCS6 Blocked by SonicWall, Detected as Trojan

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Updating CCS6 fails because our company's firewall, SonicWall, is blocking access to a file, see image below. It's getting blocked due to the detection of a trojan. Assuming that this is false is there a way around this?

  • Gary,

I did a search on this and I found a number of hits where SonicWall was blocking updates for various different products. I am not familiar with SonicWall but from what I read it is possible to add programs to an exclusions list. In this case it may be better to add our update sites to the ok list.

We access http://software-dl.ti.com and http://downloads.ti.com for updates.

Here are the instructions that I was able to find. I changed them to show one of the TI addresses.

Under Gateway Anti-Virus tab click "Configure Gateway AV Settings"

Check "Enable Gateway AV Exclusion List" -- You now have to create an address object to select in the "Use Address Object" drop down.

Under Network > Address Objects create a new object.

    Name: software-dl.ti.com

    Zone Assignment: WAN

    Type: FQDN

    FQDN Hostname: software-dl.ti.com

Under Network > Address Objects select the Address Group tab and create a new group

Name it "TI Exclusion Group" [Or whatever you want it to be]

Add all the address objects previously created to the group

Return to Gateway Anti-Virus > "Configure Gateway AV Settings"

Select Address Object "TI Exclusion Group" [Or whatever you ended up naming it]

    Regards,
    John
