Hi Guys,

Is there any specific CCS version recommended for EVE simulation on windows PC.

Wanted to check if i can go ahead with CCS 7.x version for all simulation purpose?

I see most of document indicating about 5.x version of CCS.

Hi Rafeal,

i am having some problem with while installing the CCS v7.3,v6.2,5.5.
after referring the community forum and their helps i tried my best for anti virus ,still i am suffering the the same issue. below are the steps what i tried.
-download the CCS versions and installs -FAILS (here anti virus is running)
-download the CCS versions,disable the anti virus and installs -FAILS
-disables the antivirus, download the CCS versions and installs -FAILS
-uninstall the antivirus, download the CCS version and installs -FAILS

i am sending the installation failure reports to TI as it suggests in popup after failed installation.
my PC has "Trend micro" anti virus.

Need your help for the same.

Hi Mohammed,
Trend micro tends to mess up the installation by leaving files open during the install. You would need to turn it off, delete all the files in the installation directory and install successfully before trying to install anything from the update sites.

After uninstalling Trend micro i am starting new CCS installations as a fresh considering deleting old installations,rebooting the PC.

Any other inputs appreciated.

Are you trying to install CCS version 6.2.0 or 5.5.0? I'm sorry, I'm a little confused. Did you download offline installers for both?

I am playing with 3 versions of CCS in parallel. v7.x, v6.2, v5.5.

For every version i am trying prescribed procedures as documented.

Today morning i got some luck with CCS 7. i will update if i go through or more luck. mean while your inputs are warmed welcome.

Hi Guys,

Able to install CCS 7.4, i uninstalled all previous versions and installed CCS on "D" drive.
my observations:
-Antivirus was uninstalled.
-conflicting packages shall be avoided
- PC restarted after uninstallation and give a fresh PC with Admin rights.

Along with all above observations i suggest one more observation/precaution.

-use paths as short as possible. CCS confused due to long directory hierarchy.

Hi Mohammed,

Vayu simulator is not supported for EVE on version above CCSv5 and hence it is not recommended to use version above CCSv5 for EVE development on vayu simulator. However you can use CCSV7 with below workaround for EVE development. Add a file called "tisim_connection.xml" inside ccs_base\common\targetdb\connections folder with following content :

<property Type="hiddenfield" Value="No" id="dataFileRequired"/>
</connection>

I would also recommend you to look at the host emulation feature for the kernels which can help you faster in getting started on EVE kernel development. All the VCOP kernels can be build using gcc/visual studio compiler and can run directly on PC. You can refer to the section 2.3 in eve_kernels_userguide.pdf to understand how to build kernels for host emulation ( we currently support Visual Studio based host emulation).

I am using the CCS 7.4. I am able to install vayu simulator under ccs7.4 successfully. when I create a target and launch the target CCS crashes.

Refer below steps for target creation and launch.

1. step01 :create target

2. configure target, whatever I see suitable, I select for best result

3. set target configuration as "Default"

4. Launch the selected configuration

Need your help for the same.

Instead of working with offline installer can you use the method which is described in eve's getting started guide to install vayu simulator.

I am following the same steps that mentioned in eve getting started guide, it installs successfully but when I configure the target and launch the target CCS crashes.

Have you tried installing the simulator using offline installer first? I have tried the same steps with CCSv7.3 and it worked. I am suspecting if your first attempt with offline installer and this steps are causing some conflict

Hi Anshu,
can you share the binary fore the offline installer?
I use the link mentioned in eve getting started pdf and install it under CCS and it installs.
but when I try to access the webpage separately to download the offline installer,It seems I don't have permission to access the offline installables, web page says" Forbidden, don't have permission access..."

Hi Mohammed,
You dont need offline installer. Please follow these steps :
In the CCSv5 main window, select Help->Install New Software...
- This brings up the Available Software window.
In the Available Software window, type the vayu simulator P2 installation server URL listed below into the "Work with:" text box, and press Enter.
Server URL for windows:
Windows: software-dl.ti.com/.../p2win32
Linux: software-dl.ti.com/.../p2linux

It will list TI VAYU CCS simulator. Select it and finish installation. You will have to restart the CCS. Once this is done do the workaround mentioned my me earlier after that you should be able to install and use vayu simulator

100% agreed. this way only I am installing the vayu simulator.
but for the CCS 7.4 it says it has latest version than of mentioned update.
I will try the same for CCS5.4, I am having crash issue for CCS5.4 when it starts,i am discussing CCS5.4 crash issue in different thread.

Any other suggestion please, most welcome.

When it is crashing what error are you getting? is it something like this :

when I open CCS 5.4 I get the popup for the update see below if I click "finish" button on popup it gives error(refer pic 2)

Hi Mohammad,
I am not sure about this error. If you have a fresh installation of CCSv5.5 then you can try the steps on it. I earlier used 5.5 and I didnt faced any such issue. I even tried with 7.3 and with the workaround and steps mentioned by me its working even there.

I am able to run the simulator on CCS 5.4,
main trick what I did is I bypassed the update and configured the target for vayu simulator.

I'm also trying to run EVE Emulator on CCS v7.4. I followed the steps in this post, but when I try to launch the target config I get the error you mentioned. Do you have a way to get rid of that error?

Hi Tobias,
EVE simulators are not officially supported beyond CCSv5. Kindly use CCSv5.5 if you want to use eve/vayu simulator. For other version some extra steps are required. I remember last time you mentioned that you were able to run the simulator? Isn't that the case?

i suggest not to waste your time on any other simulator, i tried on 7.3,7.4,6.x but no luck (with different issues like CCS crash or init error etc.).
good thing is you can compile the EVE code using 7.x and run the simulator on 5.4. this is what i am doing (this is workaround but i dont find better than this, if any i will share it).
