CCS/CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL: Cannot import SAIL example to CCS Cloud

Part Number: CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3220SF

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I imported a project from the TI Resource Explorer (link) to CCS Cloud.  The project imported fine, and I was able to connect my CCS Cloud Session (ID 1513795448847_00002542) to the CC3220SL LaunchXL on my COM port using the extension.  However, I can't build the project.  I receive an error message saying:

Project 'button_CC3220SF_LAUNCHXL_freertos_ccs' cannot be built in CCS Cloud environment! Please download this project and build it using CCS Desktop.  Reason: Referencing arbitrary filesystem locations is not allowed.

What is causing this error, and what do I need to do to fix it?  Thank you. - Matthew

  • Matthew,

Unfortunately the FreeRTOS examples cannot be built on CCS Cloud, as these projects require FreeRTOS to be installed and need to be aware of its location. You can still import and build the TIRTOS examples though.

For FreeRTOS you would need to import the example into desktop CCS and also follow the couple of steps outlined in the Quick Start Guide for SimpleLink CC3220 SDK (also found in Resource Explorer under SimpleLink CC3220 SDK->Documents) for them to build properly.
