Thanks but what I was looking for was the device/chip that is on your board. For example an F28377D or a C6678 or a CC2640R2... The watchpoint capabilities vary by device as they are dependent on the debug IP in the chip.

I see the same as you. I can set a hardware watchpoint on a variable (or address) but it is only letting me configure if it is a read/write/any(access). Normally there would be an explicit option "with data" in the breakpoint properties.

Thus our debugger doesn't think this is possible on the device. I am going to need to check if this is an issue with our software for Cortex A9 or if the chip debug IP doesn't support it.

I was able to confirm on a different device (cortex M4 based) that the "with data" option was there and working.

I have filed a defect for our development team to dig into this as my first thought is that this is a limitation in our software. However one of my team members took a look at the technical reference manual for Cortex A9 and it looks like it may only support matching addresses and not data. Anyway someone who knows this topic well will be looking at it and I will reply back with what they find.
